  • Introduction

    Patch Management powered by Automox is a cloud-based patch management designed to help organizations efficiently manage and secure their endpoints, servers, and other devices. The platform focuses on automating the process of patching and maintaining software across a wide range of operating systems and applications, ensuring that systems are up-to-date and protected against vulnerabilities.

     

    This  solution employs it's lightweight agent to safeguard devices. Therefore, ensure that your employees have installed the agent on their devices. If they haven't, please read on;

    Connect to Console

    While you have the option to request access to the Crowdstrike console, our SOC team takes charge of the administration and monitoring of your Patch Management powered by Automox , console as part of our service package.

    Overview Report

    The Overview Report page provides a historical overview of device patches, including applied patches and those that are still pending. This report offers a snapshot of your system's vulnerability status. The data is downloadable.

     

    Activity Log

    On the Activity Log page, you can access logs and reports related to system events, including policy actions and patch activities. The data is filterable.

     

    Pre-patch Report

    The Pre-patch Report page presents a comprehensive list of pending patches for each endpoint, along with severity and exposure details. This allows for effective internal impact assessment.

     

    Needs Attention Report

    The Needs Attention Report page offers a list of endpoints requiring focus, accompanied by pertinent information. This helps prioritize systems issues and optimizes resource allocation.

     

    Devices

    The Devices page displays a complete roster of all organization devices. Utilize the left-side Devices filter panel to narrow down the list based on your specific interests.

  • Overview report

    Automox's Patch Management solution offers comprehensive automation for patch management across various platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, and Windows Servers. It effectively covers both computers and servers and is tailored for remote workforces.

     

    The overview report presents a detailed device overview, patch application history, and the status of outstanding patches, including their aging. This report is intended for sharing with executives and provides an up-to-date snapshot of your overall system's vulnerability.

     

    If you wish to download the reports, simply tap on "Download image." To access all your downloaded files, use the Downloads app on your device.

     

    • Up To Date: Refers to devices without any pending updates. These are fully compliant, require no attention, and have no other pending status conditions.
    • Scheduled Update: Encompasses devices awaiting scheduled updates as per policy instructions.
    • Excluded From Reports: Lists devices marked as "special" or excluded from reporting, such as testing or legacy devices. While these devices are managed, they don't contribute to reporting metrics.
    • Needs Approval: Includes devices waiting for manual approval of patches by an administrator. All devices in this list require approval before patch installation.

    The activity log offers comprehensive logging and reporting of system events, encompassing policy actions and patch-related activities.

    The pre-patch report presents a comprehensive list of pending patches for each endpoint, providing details on severity and exposure. This report allows you to effectively evaluate the internal impact of pending patches.

     

    When devices encounter patching failures for any reason, they are categorized under the "Needs Attention" section. Such devices might necessitate a reboot to finalize the patching procedure, or there could be other issues that demand troubleshooting.

  • Needs Attention Report

    Patch Management powered by Automox fully automates patch management across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Windows Servers. Automox works across both computers and servers and is designed for remote workforces. 

     

    If devices have failed to patch for any reason, those devices are identified in the Needs Attention category. These devices might require a reboot to complete the patching process, or perhaps there are other issues that require troubleshooting.

  • Devices

    Automox's Patch Management solution offers complete automation for patch management across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Windows Servers. It is compatible with both computers and servers and is specifically designed for remote workforces.

     

    Within the Device Details view, you can access comprehensive device information, perform restarts, initiate rescans, and execute policies on a device. Additionally, you can further refine the page by applying the following filters:

     

    Connection:

    • Connected: Displays devices that are online and actively connected. You can view their current status and take necessary actions.
    • Disconnected: Lists devices that are not currently connected. Patching actions cannot be performed on these devices until they are reconnected.

    Attention Status

    • Needs Attention: If devices fail to patch for any reason, they fall under the "Needs Attention" category. These devices might require a reboot to finalize the patching process, or there could be other issues that need troubleshooting. If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to our Security Operation Center through the in-app SOC Ticket system.
    • Excluded From Reports: This category helps you identify and monitor special types of devices. Here, you can view the number of devices marked as special due to reasons such as being used for testing or development, being legacy devices, or not fitting well into the regular patching process.
    • Not Compatible: These devices do not meet the compatibility criteria.
    • Recently Added (Last 5 Days): Lists all devices added within the past five days.
